Frequently Asked Questions
Service Related Questions
1. How do you know how long it will take without seeing the garden first?
We are pretty experienced and know how fast our staff works and quote you based on your garden’s size and condition. Sending a few photos of your garden is highly recommended so our quote is as accurate as possible. Please note that for large gardens and commercial sites we only quote after visiting the place.
2. Do I need two gardeners, can't I have just one?
Gardening is a heavy-duty job, and we found out that a team of two technicians works more efficiently for maintenance, clearance, and leaf blowing services. Turfing, fence installation, and other landscape and design services require two or more landscape gardeners, depending on the project’s size and complexity.
3. Do you work on weekends/Bank holidays?
Yes, we work Monday to Saturday and on bank holidays as well. Bear in mind that weekend appointments should start at 9 am as the noise from our equipment might disturb your neighbours.
4. How can I schedule a service with you?
There are a few ways to set up an appointment with us. You can call us on 07448421577, send us a short email at info@citygardeners.co.uk or fill in your details on our “contact us” page. We typically answer emails within a couple of hours.
Price Related Questions
1. How is the cost of garden work calculated?
Our garden maintenance, clearance and leaf collection services are hourly based. You only pay for the amount of time the gardeners spent working at your home. We quote all landscaping works after an on-site survey and offer a fixed estimate for the entire project.
2. What if the gardeners finish the job earlier than expected?
The service cost will be reduced, and you will pay only for the time gardeners spent working on-site.
3. If you need more time than expected, can you stay and finish the job?
Extending the time to complete the service is absolutely fine, however, this is not always possible as gardeners might have another appointment after yours. It is best to reserve an hour more when booking the session to be on the safe side and avoid such a situation.
4. Do you need a parking space?
Yes. Our gardeners will need to park as close as possible to the property, as they will arrive with a company vehicle full of tools and equipment. If you are not able to arrange a permit, any parking charges (including fines) will come on top of the service price.
5. What are your payment options?
We accept cash and card payments after the service is completed. No matter your payment option, a receipt will be issued to you. *Please note that there is a small processing fee for card transactions.
Green Waste Disposal Related Questions
1. How much do you charge for garden waste disposal?
We charge £7 per 180l bag of green waste. At the end of the service, the gardeners count the number of bags and calculate the final cost for collection and recycling.
2. Do I have any options if I don't want you to take the waste away?
Of course. The gardeners can pile the green waste into your compost corner or load it into your green bin. Alternatively, we can bag up all the clippings and leave them for council collection.
