The Story Behind The Fence Installation Service We Did in Wembley
Some fences serve their purpose for years, but sooner or later they bend over from exposure to the elements, looking as if they were swapped from another property.
Our client, John, contacted us because his fence was on its last leg. It was doing its job, but London’s strong winds and almost-every-day rain heavily taxed its durability and ruined privacy.
And a simple fence repair couldn't do the trick anymore, as a full fence replacement had to take place.
Really sad story until City Gardeners stepped in.
Step 1. The Garden Clean-Up
Before starting to replace the garden fence, we had to do some heavy-duty garden clearance. The place had not been maintained for months and was overtaken by tall weeds and brambles, and the old fence was buried somewhere. Our garden specialists got to work and fully removed all weeds, brambles, bushy shrubs, and evergreens.
Clearing out the mess resulted in a large pile of green waste. Our team chopped the big branches, and, along with the leaves and weeds, we bagged everything and took it to a waste depot. Responsible recycling is really important for us and our brand identity.
Once the garden was clean and tidy, we proceeded to the fencing part.

Step 2. Old Fence Removal
We know what you are thinking. Could you not have just swapped a few panels and posts?
Clients ask us this a lot. Like every day. In some cases, a repair is absolutely the right call, and we'll always be honest with you about that. But it was way too late to save John's fence with a simple repair.
When a post's integrity is compromised, you can replace as many panels as you want, but the fence won't be as sturdy as it once was. The underlying problem remains, and the client’s budget will be spent on an issue that will occur once again in a year or so.
Starting fresh was the proper solution in John’s case, so our team removed the old posts and whatever was left from the fence panels, then piled them at one of the garden corners. Our client said he will take care of the wood debris himself.
Step 3. Installing The New Fence
After removing the old fencing, our garden experts prepped the area and started fitting the new structure. The guys installed 15 new wooden fence posts and fixed them using postfix concrete to ensure long-term stability and durability. Because we know a sturdy framework is the most important part of every fence installation.
Then we aligned the entire fence line just perfectly.
After everything was ready, our technicians mounted 14 vertical fence panels to the posts to complete the work.
The project was finished in a day and a half. It might sound a bit quick for the scope of the work involved, but quick doesn't mean rushed. It means experienced. We’ve done fences in Wembley, Harrow, Brent and pretty much every North West London area.
Plus, we really hate the "we'll be back next week" conversations as much as you do.
Our client’s new fence is straight, solid and will last many years. No leaning. No bowing.
Fencing Transformation and Client's Reaction
The difference before and after is remarkable. If we have to be completely honest, there's nothing more satisfying than finishing a job and seeing a client's face when they step out and see the fence makeover for the first time. John was delighted. So were we.
The new fence instantly improved the overall garden design, the security of his home, and, let's not forget, the privacy factor.
Our client finally could enjoy some quiet time outside without worrying that the next windy day might blow part of his fence into the neighbour's property.
